Veldbook · Devonport Studios
Delete your Veldbook account and data
Veldbook is made by Devonport Studios. This page is how you ask for your Veldbook journal and sign-in to be deleted.
Steps
- Open Veldbook.
- Delete the sightings, inventory plants, cultivation records, and watering you do not want.
- Open Account. If you are signed in with Google, choose Sign Out.
- Uninstall Veldbook. That removes the journal from the device.
- If you had turned on backup and want a cloud copy deleted, email the developer address shown on the Veldbook listing on Google Play. Write from the Google account you used, and ask for the Veldbook backup to be deleted.
What is deleted
Uninstalling Veldbook deletes the journal stored in the app on that device:
- Photos
- Exact locations and town names
- Plant names, inventory, cultivation, and watering
- Grower name and surname
- Reminder, backup, and Wi-Fi choices
- The Google account identifier stored in the app, if you had signed in
Signing out removes the signed-in session from Veldbook. It does not delete your Google account. To delete a Google account, use Google’s own account settings.
What is kept, and for how long
Devonport Studios does not keep a copy of the journal. There is no retention period, because the journal is not stored on a Devonport Studios server.
Veldbook does not store your email address. A town lookup and the map send a location only so the place or the map can be shown. Those services do not receive a Veldbook account, and Veldbook does not keep those requests.
If a cloud backup already exists, it is deleted when you ask, and it is not kept after that. Turning backup off stops further sending. It does not by itself erase a copy that was already stored. Ask by email, as in the steps above, for that copy to be deleted.
